The Maharani Sisters
Collecting beautiful things. Sharing their stories.
House of Saffron began with a love of discovery.
Growing up in Kenya, we were surrounded by colour, craftsmanship and cultures that celebrated making things by hand. From the carved doors of Lamu to vibrant coastal markets, we developed an appreciation for pieces with history, character and soul.
That curiosity has taken us across India, Morocco and beyond, where we spend countless hours wandering markets, meeting artisans and uncovering hidden workshops. We are always searching for something special—whether it's a hand-block printed dress, an embroidered Suzani jacket, an antique silver cross or a beautifully weathered pot with a story to tell.
Over the years, our homes became filled with treasures collected from our travels. Friends would often ask where they came from, and before long, we found ourselves sourcing pieces for others who shared the same appreciation for craftsmanship and timeless design.
House of Saffron is a reflection of those journeys.
Every collection is inspired by the places we've explored, the people we've met and the traditions we hope to help preserve. We believe in buying less, choosing well and surrounding ourselves with objects that have meaning.
Welcome to our world.
